Committee Member
- Social club committees may have a
variety of duties, including:
• Organizing events: Planning social events, trips, activities, and end-of-year celebrations. This
could include a range of socials, not just those related to drinking. Committees may also seek
input from members on what types of events they would like.
• Promoting the club: Committee members may act as a spokesperson for the club and identify
promotional opportunities. They may promote the club to the public and distribute news and
opportunities to members through
newsletters, notice boards, and websites.
• Managing memberships: Committees may manage memberships and registration.
• Fundraising: Committees may plan and organize fundraising events, such as charitable fundraising
activities.
• Chairing meetings: Committees may chair meetings and AGMs to ensure everyone has a chance to
present their views and
decisions are properly recorded. Committees may also take minutes at meetings.
• Welcoming new members: Committees may ensure new members feel welcome and involved.
• Safety: Committees may ensure everyone has a safe experience
and get policies in place to run a safe and successful club.
